The 3rd Meeting of China-ASEAN Connectivity Cooperation Committee Held in Djakarta Indonesia

On July 25, Vice Minister of Commerce Qian Keming and the rotating Chairman of ASEAN Connectivity Committee and the Permanent Representative of Philippines to ASEAN Elizabeth jointly presided over and held the 3rd Meeting of China-ASEAN Connectivity Committee in Djakarta Indonesia. Attending are the Chinese Ambassador to ASEAN Xu Bu, the representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Commerce, General Administration of Customs, General Administration of Quality Supervision, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the relevant local and financial organizations, the permanent representatives of the ten ASEAN countries to ASEAN, the members of the ASEAN Connectivity Coordinative Committee as well as the executive of the ASEAN Secretariat..

At the meeting, both sides spoke highly of the positive progress made by the connectivity cooperation between China and ASEAN since the 2nd meeting of the Cooperation Committee, profoundly exchanged views on further promoting relevant cooperation, and reached extensive consensuses. Both sides agreed that China's Belt and Road Initiative enjoys appropriate strategies and interlinks fields with the General Plan of ASEAN Connectivity 2025 with great the potential of coordinated development. Both sides will continue to dock the plan, conduct specific negotiations on prior fields and projects which may be integrated into further cooperation, encourage enterprises to carry out practical cooperation, support the ASEAN implementing the General Plan 2025, enable both sides to continuously pursue the forward development in the connectivity cooperation, bring more tangible benefits for the peoples of the local regions and promote China-ASEAN relations to enter a new stage.
