On the morning of October 29, 2019, Vice Minister Qian Keming and Deputy Minister of Department of Trade and Industry of South Africa Masina co-chaired the China-South Africa Joint Economic and Trade Committee and the 7th meeting of the Economic and Trade Sub-Committee of National Bilateral Committee in Beijing. They reviewed the fruitful results achieved in economic and trade cooperation after the last session and reached broad consensus on strengthening cooperation in trade, investment, and infrastructure. After the meeting, the two sides signed the meeting minutes of the Joint Committee, and a joint statement about the establishment of a trade facilitation and investment promotion working group.

On October 31, Vice Minister Qian Keming, on behalf of the Economic and Trade Sub-Committee of National Bilateral Committee, reported to the 7th Plenary Session of the National Bilateral Committee of China and South Africa.
